Go To Danau Toba In Medan
Danau Toba lake is a volcanic lake covers 100 kilometers square area in North Sumatra province, Indonesia. In the center of the lake, there is a small volcanic island named “Simosir Island”. Toba Lake, since the past, is main tourism destination in North Sumatra besides Bukit Lawang and Nias Island, very interesting for domestic and foreign tourists.
It was created when a massive eruption happened about 73,000 - 75,000 years ago, as the newest supervolcano eruption in the world. Bill Rose and Michigan University has counted that volcanic materials was shout out about 2800 kilometers cubic, 800 kilometers cubic as the amount of ingnimbrit stones and 2,000 kilometers cubic volcanic dust.
