The Malaysia study abroad program is an affordable way for students to explore the medium of film in the rich cultural, historical and religious context of Malaysia. This six-week summer program offers courses in scriptwriting and documentary studies with a Southeast-Asian emphasis. The program is sponsored by the Center for International Studies in cooperation with the School of Media Arts & Studies and directed by Professor Frederick Lewis.
The program will be based at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the cultural and economic center of the country. Students will have ample opportunity to immerse themselves in the history and culture of the region, and incorporate the unique learning environment of the program into their coursework.
There is a popular saying about this wonderful country – “Malaysia – Truly Asia”. Indeed, as you’ll find on your travels to Malaysia, this inspiring South-East Asian country has the very best of what the Asian continent has to offer. Take a look at our exclusive introduction
From it’s warm and welcoming people, who can seem to never stop wanting to please, to the vivid and flavoursome cuisine – it’s a place that will have you hooked the minute you embark from your plane. But that’s just to begin with – Malaysia has awe-inspiring, white sandy beaches with turquoise blue waters that will have you wondering if you’ve lost your way and ended up in the Maldives – then there’s the capital of Kuala Lumpur, which grips you with it’s buzzing life…here you can amble along exciting street markets, take in a very reasonable (and tasty) meal just about anywhere and gaze at the major landmarks such as the Petronas Towers and nearby Batu caves. Accommodation is also relatively cheap to stay in the centre with a wide range of high class and budget hotels. It follows that whether you’re looking to enjoy the lap of luxury or backpack your way around – you’ll find what you’re looking for in Malaysia. It’s a holiday-makers paradise.

Go To Singapore Shop
Singapore Little India is just located along Serangoon Road, you won’t miss the place. i suggest you take the MRT, it would be a better choose to go visit Little India. As you walk along little India, you will be greeted by music of India and the sense of the beautiful smells of incense………….
Walk down Serangoon Road and the little laneways and go in and out of all the little shops. You will be amazed at what you can find.
From costume jewellery to women’s and men’s wear you will find it all here.
Looking for some beautiful material - try the Saree shops. They don’t just have to be used as dresses. Hunt through the hanging rails to find beautiful embroidered, sequined women’s tops or skirts, men’s T-shirts and shorts. There are shops devoted to costume jewellery - beautiful bracelets and necklaces.
Need a Bollywood movie or CD - just follow the sounds and you will find a shop.
If you enjoy hunting for bargains then Little India is the place to go. Meet the locals, expect to bargain and you will have great fun.
The Mustafa Center in Little India is open 24 hours a day for shopping… it’s a HUGE building, about 8 stories, and you can buy almost anything you want, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at great prices. Clothes, jewelry, fine jewelry, watches, electronics, toys, food, market items, full pharmacy, kitchen appliances, computers, gifts, household items, EVERYTHING.
And the selection is huge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is adjacent to the New Park Hotel. Near the Farrer MRT station.
You won’t go hungry at little India, there are so many restaurants and coffee shops offer local Indian cuisine and if you are curvy for spicy food, curry fish head is a must to try. Lot of vegetarian restaurants along Serangoon road
